EASTENDERS has cast a British gangster film legend to shake up the series.
Fans will be stunned to learn that movie legend Nick Nevern has landed the role of Sam Mitchell’s ex.
Nick, who has appeared in dozens of British gangster films and shot to fame in classics like Vendetta alongside Danny Dyer, will make his EastEnders debut next week when his character arrives in the square to try to win Sam back.
A source said: “It’s a huge blow for the show. Nick will really shake things up when he arrives. It will be a great addition to Albert Square.”
Nick will play the role of Don – Sam Mitchell’s ex-boyfriend.
Nick has become a household name after starring in several British gangster films.
He played a major role in the 2012 remake of The Sweeney alongside acting legend Ray Winstone.
Nick has also starred in cult movies including Strippers vs Werewolves.
Other films include The Fall of the Essex Boys and The Hooligan Factory.
More recently, he starred in Mrs. Brown’s Boys D’Movie, which propelled him to fame in the United States.
The actor’s most recent TV role was on the hit BBC series Motherland, which he has appeared in since his debut in 2017.
EastEnders Sam Mitchell made a comeback last April – with a lot of baggage.
Actress Kim Medcalf, 48, was back as the sister of Phil Mitchell, who fled to Brazil on bail in 2005.
Sam was previously played by Danniella Westbrook.
