PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) – A 26-year-old man from Fall River died Saturday morning after being stabbed outside the Cadillac Lounge in Providence, police said.

According to Major David Lapatin, the police intervened around 1 a.m. in the living room for a disturbance.

Around the same time, police received a call that the stabbing victim was being taken to a hospital in Rhode Island.

At the hospital, the 26-year-old was pronounced dead.

Lapatin said three people followed the victim and his friends to the parking lot.

A person allegedly confronted the victim and stabbed him.

After the stabbings, the three people left in two cars: a white Cherokee and a gray Hyundai, Lapatin said.

According to Providence Board of Licenses Chairman Dylan Conley, it is not known if the altercation started inside the club.

Conley said Cadillac Lounge sent video footage to Providence police.

Additionally, the strip club will be closed for 72 hours.

The case is currently being investigated as a homicide. The licensing board will meet again on Wednesday to discuss further
