CU Boulder Provost Russell Moore today provided an update on the research from the Dean of the Leeds School of Business. In May, Moore named Yonca Ertimur acting dean of the school, following the announcement of Sharon Matusik’s departure.

“For this position, I seek a dean who will foster a positive environment for teaching, scholarship, research and service inside and outside the university,” Moore said. “The next Dean will need to build on Leeds’ stellar reputation, Boulder’s unique startup ecosystem and our national lab innovation center to propel the school’s reputation to new heights nationwide. and international.”

Moore added that the ability to develop and support a diverse and inclusive environment will be essential to this leadership role.

Reporting to the Provost, the Dean of Leeds School is the principal academic and administrative officer, providing strategic and equitable leadership, vision, planning and management. This position has leadership responsibilities in academic programs, budget and personnel.

The search advisory committee, chaired by Keith Molenaar, dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science, met and began work in October with help from executive search firm Isaacson, Miller. Moore plans to bring the finalists to campus after the winter break and appoint a permanent Dean of the Leeds School of Business in spring 2023.
