A WOMAN was repeatedly assaulted and stabbed during a corporate robbery just off Umhlanga Rocks Drive on Saturday evening just after 6.42pm.

The woman was stabbed in the head and face and dragged herself from her business, located near Whynotte Park, when a member of the public spotted her.

Marshall Security spokesman Tyron Powell said the member of the public then reported a security guard on patrol.

“The woman was found to be locking up her business premises when she was assaulted by a suspect armed with a knife. She was repeatedly assaulted and stabbed in the face and neck. The suspect then attempted to tie up the woman. He fled with several goods from his company and fled on foot,” Powell said.

He added that a GBH assault and robbery case has been opened at Greenwood Park SAPS.

Netcare 911 spokesman Shawn Herbst said when paramedics arrived on the scene, Marshall security guards were busy providing first aid.

“The patient suffered serious injuries after being repeatedly assaulted and stabbed. The woman was treated at the scene by Netcare 911 emergency care practitioners and once stabilized she was rushed to hospital,” Herbst said.

It is understood that she is currently in a stable condition in intensive care.
