A 28-year-old man from Mount Morgan has died after losing control of the motorbike he was riding when it crashed into vacant land in Mount Morgan overnight.

At around 10.50pm the motorcyclist was traveling west along Central Street when, near Pattison Street, he lost control at the top of the road and crashed.

He was taken to Rockhampton Base Hospital with arm and chest injuries.

He later died in hospital from his injuries.

The police investigation reveals that the man was not wearing a helmet.

The Forensic Unit is investigating and is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has a dash cam of the incident to come forward.
