Chris Rock has finally dropped his dignified silence after being slapped by Will Smith, for mocking his old friend with Dave Chappelle on the opening night of their UK tour.
Rock was performing with Dave Chappelle at the M&S Arena in Liverpool for the first night of their multi-date tour. Chappelle asked Rock about the infamous slap, probing, “Did it hurt?”
In response, Rock – who had been tight-lipped on the matter until now – went wild.
‘Damn it’s true…that motherfucker hit me for a bulls joke, the best joke I’ve ever told.

The slap heard around the world: Smith stormed the stage on March 27 to smack his old friend after he told a tasteless joke about Jada Pinkett Smith

Chappelle took roasting even further.
“Will looked like a perfect person for 30 years, and he ripped off his mask and showed us that he was as ugly as all of us.
“Whatever the consequences…I hope he doesn’t put his mask back on and lets his true face breathe.” I see myself in both men,” he said.
Smith stormed the stage at the Oscars in March to slap Rock after he made a tasteless joke about Smith’s wife, Jada.
She had shaved her head after suffering from alopecia, and Rock joked that she looked like “GI Jane”.
Furious, Smith interrupted the show, leapt onto the stage and slapped his friend on the cheek.
The slap was heard around the world and overshadowed the whole event.
Smith briefly apologized at the time, and earlier this month he posted a creepy, hand-twisting Instagram mea culpa to his old friend. Rock didn’t accept the apology, he revealed.
Smith wasn’t the only target of Rock’s wrath on Thursday night – he also took a swipe at Meghan Markle and her constant complaints about the Royal Family and her life.

“I just don’t understand,” he said. He used her as an example of the current obsession with being a victim, which he believed was one of the only ways to be famous.
In his apology earlier this month, Smith said: “I reached out to Chris and the message that came back is he’s not ready to talk when he is, he’ll reach out.”
‘So I’ll tell you, Chris, I’m sorry. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.
He went on to win Best Actor for his role in King Richard that night, but he didn’t specifically apologize to Rock.
Insisting that his wife had nothing to do with the slap, he continued: “I made my own choice based on my own experiences of my history with Chris.
‘Jada has nothing to do with it. I’m sorry, baby.
“I want to say sorry to my children and my family for the warmth I brought to all of us.
“For all my fellow nominees, it’s a community.
“It feels like I won because you voted for me and it breaks my heart that you stole and tarnished your moment.”
Smith went on to say that “disappointing people” was his “central trauma”.
“I can still see Questlove’s eyes. You know it happened on the price of Questlove. You know, it’s like. I’m sorry, that’s really not enough.
The actor posted the video to Instagram on Friday where he said he was “misty” during his acceptance speech, and that’s why he didn’t apologize to Rock. ‘I reached out to Chris and the message that came back is he’s not ready to talk when he is, he’ll reach out
Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, had recently revealed that she suffered from alopecia and had shaved her head. Rock joked during her hosting set that she looked like ‘GI Jane’
“Disappointing people is my main trauma. I hate when I let people down so it hurts.
“It hurts me psychologically and emotionally to know that I haven’t lived up to the image and the impression that people have of me, and the job that I’m trying to do is that I’ve deeply remorseful.
And I try to feel remorse without being ashamed of myself. I’m human and I made a mistake and I try not to think of myself as shit.
“I would tell these people I know it was confusing, I know it was shocking, but I promise you that I am deeply dedicated and committed to bringing light, love and joy into the world.
“And, you know, if you hang in there, I promise you we can be friends again,” he told fans he let it go.
Rock recently addressed the controversy during a show at Madison Square Garden, where he laughed it off.
“Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face,” he told the crowd.
Rock is scheduled to perform with Chappelle in London, Copenhagen and Amsterdam, before returning to the US later this month for more shows.
