Pensioner rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a bus on Scots Road

A PENSIONER has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a bus on a busy Glasgow street.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Govan Road around 3.15pm earlier today.

The pensioner was taken to hospital after the crash earlier today

Reports said there was a large presence of emergency services and the road would have been closed.

Police have confirmed a 72-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries.

And they confirmed that investigations into the incident are currently underway.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers were called to a report that a pedestrian was struck by a bus in Govan Road, Glasgow at around 3.15pm on Friday September 2, 2022.

“A 72-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

“Investigations are ongoing.”

It comes as six people have been rushed to hospital following a horror crash on a major Scottish road.

Emergency services and an air ambulance rushed to the A82 at Luss to report a serious collision between a minibus and two cars this morning.

Police and paramedics were present and the road was closed in both directions.
