Two people are hospitalized with serious injuries after an accident involving a motorbike and a pedestrian in Rochdale.

At around 8pm last night (September 1) officers were called to reports that a motorbike traveling on Spotland Road had crashed into a pedestrian.

The motorcyclist and pedestrian were transported to hospital where they continue to receive treatment.

One has life-threatening injuries and the other has serious injuries, police say.

The accident was separate from another incident which occurred on nearby Whitworth Road at around 2.45pm.

Commenting on the Whitworth Road incident, a GMP spokesperson said: ‘At approximately 2.45pm on Thursday, police attended an incident in Whitworth Road, Rochdale.

“A man was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries that are not serious or life threatening.

“Investigations are ongoing at this time to understand all of the circumstances.”

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or may have dash cam footage of the area at the time, to get in touch by calling 0161 856 4741 en citing incident number 3059 of 01/09/2022.
