Democratic U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman hit back Thursday after his Republican opponent Dr. Mehmet Oz’s campaign misleading

the Pennsylvania favorite by employing two convicted murderers on his team.

“Does Dr. Oz think wrongfully convicted people should die in prison? Does this man have compassion?”

The Oz campaign failed to mention that the brothers, Dennis and Lee Horton, were granted clemency after successfully arguing they were wrongfully convicted of second-degree murder and spent 27 years behind bars.

“This defamation is a sad and desperate attack on Dr. Oz’s shambolic campaign,” Fetterman said in a statement. “Going after two campaign staffers is a new low for Dr Oz. Dennis and Lee, who were wrongfully convicted, are two of the kindest, hardest working people I know – fighting for their release was one of the proudest moments of my career and I am honored to have in this team.”

“Does Dr. Oz think wrongfully convicted people should die in prison? Does this man have compassion?” He asked. “He makes a predictable and alarmist speech

attack on two men who spent 27 years in prison for a crime they did not commit.”

The slander of Oz – which came as aggregate polls showed him trailing the Democrat by eight points with just two months to go until November’s midterm election – follows another dubious attack in which the doctor of television made comments, according to many observers, mocking Fetterman’s recent stroke.

“I survived a stroke. Many others also had to deal with health issues,” Fetterman said.

Wednesday at a campaign event. “Can you imagine if you had a doctor laughing at you for this?”
