This article contains spoilers for the third episode of “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.”
Universe-expanding cameos have been a big part of Marvel Studios lately.
We’ve seen the Spider-Verse and the Multiverse of Madness give us superhero appearances many fans never thought possible on screen, from all the cinematic Spider-Men in the same place at the same time to Patrick Stewart introducing himself as Professor Charles Xavier of the X-Men. Now, the latest episode of “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” on Disney Plus, which began airing Thursday, has given the Marvel Cinematic Universe its next big super cameo moment.
We entered the Meganverse.
Megan Thee Stallion is now officially canon in the MCU. The famous rapper played a part in one of the funniest “She-Hulk” jokes so far.
In the third episode, an elderly Asgardian shapeshifter is accused of taking on the form of Megan Thee Stallion and using her newfound beauty to seduce an unsuspecting sucker – who happens to be She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters’ co-worker in his law firm. – and swindle a six-figure sum. Before taking his broken heart and his case to court, Dennis Bukowski (Drew Matthews) is the recipient of multiple laughs at his expense when he tries to explain to anyone who will listen that he really believed that Megan Thee Stallion was in love with him. It’s especially funny considering that Bukowski has spent most of his “She-Hulk” screen time so far revolting to any woman who meets him.
Who is She-Hulk? Six things to know before watching his Disney Plus series.
During the court proceedings, the real Megan Thee Stallion is seen in the public seating area declaring herself the only real Meg. But that’s not the end of his cameo. This episode’s post-credits scene features Megan Thee Stallion at She-Hulk’s (Tatiana Maslany) law firms hiring the MCU’s new superheroine as a new lawyer, much to the delight of Walters, who is a super fan.
And that’s where the twerking begins.
You read correctly. The same show that let everyone know Captain America grew up is now home to the MCU’s first certified twerking moment. There are no obstacles that “She-Hulk” won’t cross.
Megan Thee Stallion and She-Hulk (who’s in CGI form) share a celebratory twerk at work and the rest is history.
There have been many jokes over the years about everyone loving Captain America’s behind. This includes a time travel scene in “Avengers: Endgame” where even Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) has to admit there’s a lot going on there, and a mention of her strengths in “She-Hulk.” But twerking is a superpower that has yet to be displayed in the MCU. So far.
Talk about sex. Gamma radiated gyration. Three episodes and it’s clear this isn’t your grandparents’ MCU.
