A TEAM of healthcare workers from a children’s respite unit in Kidderminster celebrate after winning a prestigious award.

The Kidderminster Short Breaks unit, run by Worcestershire Children First, has been nominated for the Child and Adolescent Health Care Award at the Worcestershire Health and Social Care Awards.

Moule Close has been open for over 20 years and provides respite care to hundreds of children with disabilities.

Team Leader Stuart Hart said: “Everyone at Moule close is incredibly proud to win the Child and Adolescent Healthcare award.

“It’s a lovely reminder to everyone at home that the individual care we plan and give to each youngster is appreciated and rewards our commitment to providing the best possible service.

“We aim to create a feeling of ‘home’ in Moule Close and want young people and families to feel that we are an extension of their own families,

“The house recently underwent an Ofsted inspection and we received an overall rating of good which shows the house continues to make progress in providing the best possible care.

“Moule close is currently looking to recruit new staff to join the team, if you are someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people, who is passionate and caring and who wants an employer who can provide training and career paths, please contact Stuart Hart on [email protected] or 01562 823653 for further information.

He added: “I received a certificate from the Royal Humane Society in September at the West Mercia Police Awards ceremony for the help I was able to give in May 2019, where I been able to help bring a man back to life using CPR and a defibrillator, I’m very proud of this individual award, but it wouldn’t have been possible if the training and retraining I received through Worcester Children First m allowed us to remain calm in a very difficult situation”.
