A match. A point. That’s what it all came down to when Cymru made a date with fate.

Gemma Grainger’s side need just one more point in their final qualifier against Slovenia on Tuesday (September 6) to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup play-offs, which will would be a historic feat for Cymru.
Carrie Jones’ opening goal was enough to see off Greece’s challenge in Volos, but in truth Cymru never looked in danger as the home side put players behind the ball and rarely generated any attack.
With those last qualifying matches played before the start of the season, the way the fixtures went will suit Cymru as victory in Greece dusted the cobwebs ahead of that tough game against Slovenia at the Cardiff City Stadium.
A record crowd for a Women’s International match will be in attendance and the power of The Red Wall cannot be underestimated as Cymru look to make the Play-Offs for the first time ever.
