CUBITT
Cubitt is an artist-run co-op based in Islington, offering artist studios, a non-profit gallery and a community arts program. Over the past 30 years, Cubitt has helped launch the careers of many artists and curators through its pioneering gallery program, which has seen a new curator appointed every 18 months. His alumni have been nominated for the Turner Prize and have run prominent galleries in the UK and overseas.

In a world increasingly dominated by pragmatism, the artist’s studio is one of the few openly experimental spaces in society. In recent years, Cubitt has incorporated this spirit of experimentation into its collaborations with key social actors, placing artists and studios in schools, care facilities, neighborhood centers and housing estates. Driven by the energy and commitment of its members, Cubitt has become a highly respected model of engagement with the visual arts and a vital part of London’s creative ecosystem.

The celebrations will continue on-site at Cubitt throughout the coming year, with studios open during Frieze Weekend and events exploring Cubitt’s diverse curatorial practices. Additionally, live performances and programming will continue in the gallery and local communities and on CCR, Cubitt’s community radio station.
